Be Still Before the Lord

This week’s Devotional Topic
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.  Delight yourself in the lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Be still before the Lord and wait Patiently for him.  Do not fret – it leads only to evil.” -Proverbs 6:3-8.
Worry is a debilitating state of mind that if not dealt with can erode our joy, peace, and healthy sense of God’s presence. We worry about our Jobs.  We worry about our loved ones.  We worry about the past.  We worry about the future while there are numerous scriptures that speak directly to the problem of worry. Worry is essentially an assault on the character of God, since underlying most of our concerns in the notion that somehow God will not come through for us.  We don’t have to understand all the implications of worry; we just need to obey God and do our best to cease and desist.  Joy will be rediscovered and the pleasure of God will be yours to once again enjoy.
This week’s Scripture: Psalm 94:1-23 (NIV)
