This week’s Devotional Topic
TRUST GOD
There is a difference between belief and trust. You may believe that a plane can take you from San Francisco to New York but you don’t exercise TRUST until you actually get on that plane. And you may believe that a chair can hold you up off the floor safely but trust is when you actually sit down on it. And you may believe that God will meet your needs and will answer your prayers. The next level in your faith is when you rest in Him and take action reflecting your trust that what He has promised, He will also do it.
John 14:1 NLT   “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me.”
Proverbs 3:5,6 ESV  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
The Apostle Paul encouraged the church at Philippi….
Philippians 4:6   “…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 6:25-34   “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Philippians 4:13,19   I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs16:20   Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful.
Psalm 34: 8,9   O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Amen. Lord let it be so in our lives.
