This week’s Devotional Topic
THE COMFORTER AND GUIDE
When we become a Christian, we are blessed with the personal presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God has many functions including convicting the world of sin. It is by His power that the born-again Christian is enabled to live a Christ-like life. The Spirit quickens our mortal bodies, bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, makes intersession for the Saints, gives comfort and gives us wisdom and anoints us for ministry. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.
Galatians 5:16,17 “…walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.”
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the Holy Spirit is a comforter, YOUR source of peace and comfort in times of need AND the Spirit will guide you in your heart and mind and many times directly by helping us remember the word of God. Lord help us to think on these things. Amen.
