This week’s Devotional Topic
WORDS FITLY SPOKEN
THE SPOKEN WORD is more powerful than we can imagine. God created us, providing us with a voice that can be used to praise and magnify Him, that can share the good news of the gospel or can hurt others to their very core. Please listen to the word of God as He gives us instruction and wisdom how we can be holy as He is holy and control our tongue.
In order for us to have appropriate speech, our hearts and minds must be holy as He is holy.
Luke 6:43-45 NLT  “A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.”
And as we read in I Peter 3:10  “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile”
Let this be our prayer: Father in Heaven, we love life and want to see good days. Give us power through your Holy Sprit to control our tongue. Help us to be Holy even as You are Holy. May the words of our mouths be acceptable to You.
