This week’s Devotional Topic
Joy in the Lord
The emotion of JOY can be very elusive and often confused with Happiness. As a Christian, we don’t just have “joy”, we have great joy. Joy that is unspeakable, created by God Himself and communicated to us through the gift of His son. He is the source of all joy.
As we live for him, then the joy of the Lord is our strength. If you are a Christian and don’t recognize the fact that He has planted His joy deep down in your soul, then pray as the Psalmist did and ask God to “restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”.
If you have not yet understood the good news of the gospel that Jesus Christ, God’s son, came into the world to save sinners. He was crucified, paid the debt of your sin. He rose from the dead and now lives at the right hand of God, the Father, there for you. Believe it and receive His gift of salvation. He will give you His joy in your soul. Joy that this circumstances of this world can never take away.
Brother and sister in the LORD, Christ has come that we might have life and that more abundantly. God help us all to “ask and we will receive that our JOY might be full”.
