This week’s Devotional Topic
Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a topic that brings a long list of issues with it. How many people have you wronged that have actually forgiven you? And what about you? Have you given forgiveness?
Without forgiveness we can actually get sick. When you don’t forgive someone who has wronged you, then you could be harboring anger and guilt until you make it right. On the other hand, when we forgive others it has an incredible positive effect on us….physically, mentally and spiritually. It sets us free, takes a huge load off our shoulders.
The true source of forgiveness comes from the love of God. It is ultimately the love of God that brings forgiveness. The greatest act we can ever receive is God’s forgiveness. It is free to us through the gift of His son. And when we recognize the forgiveness we have, then how can we hold back forgiveness of others considering the forgiveness God has bestowed upon us. Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
