This week’s Devotional Topic
Rejoicing
Regardless of our circumstances, God makes it pretty clear that we always have reason for joy and should express that by rejoicing. There’s a song that encourages us to count our blessings, name them one by one. Let’s invest a few moments to consider the reasons we have for joy and rejoicing!
Our God is an awesome God! We are fearfully and wonderfully made… in His image! He loves us unconditionally! We have peace with God. God is our refuge, a very present help in time of need. Because He first loved us, and gave His son as a sacrifice for our sins, we are delivered from the penalty of sin. The gift of His Holy Spirit gives power over sin. And soon when we are in His presence in Heaven, we will spend eternity enjoying the fact that we have been delivered from the presence of sin. There will be no more sorrow, pain or sadness there. To be absent from this body is to be present with Him.
Because of God, we can rejoice, enjoying joy and peace… no matter what!
