This week’s Devotional Topic
Spiritual Warfare
The Bible is very clear about the fact that there is spiritual warfare taking place all around us. Although it may be taking place in the invisible realm, it is very real and we can see the effect of it around us and at times touching our own lives. It is important that we understand how to recognize it, what it is, the forms it takes and how we should respond to it.
As we are told in Ephesians 6 “…we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.”
One well known battle showing Who’s in charge of the outcome of warfare is David and Goliath. As David said on that fateful day, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you… And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues His people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and He will give you to us!”
As you deal with spiritual battles in your life, think on these things!
