This week’s Devotional Topic
He Keeps Every Promise
God has made many promises to us and has never broken one of them. Psalm 146:3 – 6, “Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.” And in Heb 10:23, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.”
We have been created in God’s image. It is important that we keep our promises, not only as a character trait of God but also as a testimony to the fact that he lives in us.
One promise made in scripture is the return of Jesus. Many wonder if He is ever coming, will He keep that promise. Listen to the words from 2 Peter 3, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. If you have not repented of your sin and accepted the free gift of salvation that God offers, it is not too late. Today is the day.” “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
