This week’s Devotional Topic
LET ALL THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD
The entire Bible along with the testimonies of God’s people over the centuries makes a case for why we should Praise Him. Please invest these next few moments in His word looking at the reason for our Praise.
You may remember how that David was a musician, writing songs and promoting the use of music in praise and worship. Look at his ‘short list’ of reasons to praise in Psalms 148:1-4 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise Him from the skies! Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all the armies of heaven! Praise Him, sun and moon! Praise Him, all you twinkling stars! Praise Him, skies above! Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds!
AND his list continues in Psalms 150:1-5 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heaven! Praise Him for His mighty works; praise His unequaled greatness! Praise Him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise Him with the lyre and harp! Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flutes! Praise Him with a clash of cymbals; praise Him with loud clanging cymbals.
Listen to the lesson about praise found in the account of the ten lepers…
Luke 17:11 As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, He reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As He entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him for what He had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you. “
Friends please catch this fact: if you are a Christian, you have been “healed”, spiritually! And many of us have been healed physically and some of us experienced God’s touch mentally and have His peace in our hearts and minds. PRAISE HIM for his healing but most of all for His great love shown toward us through the sacrifice of His son as payment in full for our sin. Let all that has life and breath PRAISE HIM
