This week’s Devotional Topic
CLEAN VESSEL
God makes it very clear in scripture that we should be “clean”. He wants us clean inside and out. And it is in our best interest to be clean. Just look at the Pentatuch….from Genesis to Deuteronomy, the word “clean” appears SEVENTY-THREE times. And a total of just over 130 times from cover to cover within the King James bible.
We should come out and away from those people, places and things that are unclean, be separate, a peculiar people. We are to be clean and holy, even as He is holy. When we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We are blessed with His rest as we trust His many promises that we have been redeemed and are clean before the Lord. He can take away the guilt that Satan would have us burdened by. So that we can enjoy the freedom from that penalty that His Son took in our place.
Let this be our prayer today: As we are invited by Your mercy, we rest in You alone. Father surround us by your peace that passes all understanding as we rest knowing that our transgressions have been removed from us as far as the East is from the West. We want to be a clean vessel, wholly devoted to You. Allow us to be used in your ministry to others. We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus…amen.
