This week’s Devotional Topic
Call To Worship
Psalm 34:3 “Glorify the Lord with me – Let us exalt His name together”. For over 27 years now, that has been the invitation of this Call To Worship radio program and ministry. Think about what the concept of a Call To Worship means as we fellowship around the person and works of our God. We honor and glorify Him, exalting His name together.
“CALL” This ‘call’ is a cry to those who have ears to hear. It is a song, an invitation, a plea, an appeal, a request.
“TO” This is “to” ALL, believers and those not yet believers. This is TO you, something you need to stop and check out. This invitation has been addressed “to you”. God knows you and that you need what this time will bring to your needs and goals….a perfect fit for YOU.
“WORSHIP” the words that you hear spoken and in song will become a ‘vehicle of worship’. Our thoughts and motives will be adoration, love of God, reverence to Him, respect for Who and what He is. Our devotion will always be for him. We adore Him! We revere Him and we pray ONLY to Him. The praise that results in our hearts from this time of worship, comes blasting out as a Tribute to him. This brings with it a time of celebration, applause. And even as Jesus told the Pharisees during his triumphant entry to Jerusalem, the account found in Luke 19, when they told him to rebuke his followers… “He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”
Personally, I don’t believe that it is possible to separate true Worship from Praise as it’s natural result. Respond to your personal call to worship daily.
