The Life of Christ
Humility is an attitude, an action and a state of mind. It is a character trait of Christ and should be reflected in his followers as we have a mind that thinks like Him.
Christ humbled Himself and became obedient, even to death on a cross. Humbleness is this kind of selfless, servant attitude that we have when we see Who God is and recognize our relationship to Him. It is not easy to keep a humble attitude as we are surrounded by the “world”. According to James chapter 4, friendship with this world makes us an enemy of God. Through God’s Spirit we can have help as we want to obey Him. He will give us the strength to deny ourselves….daily to take up our cross and humbly serve Him and those around us with God’s love.
May God help us to humble ourselves toward Him as we clearly recognize Who He is and by His grace, enjoy a close relationship to Him.
