The Face of God
Can you imagine the Face of God? To see what the face of God might look like, look in a mirror. The Bible is very clear about the fact that we are made in His image! Scripture describes the face of God as peaceful and serene. Numbers 6 describes God making his face to shine upon you as a ‘blessing’. And in Psalm 31 David describes God making His face to shine upon him as the Lord showing mercy.
In John chapter 1, we are told that no one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. And there will be a time when we see the face of God… in heaven. We are told that God has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He really is. We shall behold Him. That time is coming and we are told to comfort one another with these words.
