You Are With Me
This week’s Devotional Topic
“I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” -Psalm 23:4. How could David make such a claim? Because he knew where to look. Rather than focus on the fear, focus on the solution. That’s what David did. That’s what Jesus did. And that’s what the writer urges us to do in Hebrews 12:1-2. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith.”
Don’t measure the size of the mountain. Talk to the one who can move it. Instead of carrying the world on our shoulders, talk to the one who holds the universe on His. Hope is a look away. The Lord is with me. The Creator is with me. Somewhere in the pasture, wilderness, or palace, David discovered that God meant business when he said: “I will not leave you.” Gen. 28:15 Your family may turn against you, but God won’t. Your friends may betray you, but God won’t. You may feel alone in the wilderness, but you are not. He is with you!
This week’s Scripture: Psalm 56:1-13 (NIV)
